Happy Tu b'shevat!

To see a tree
Is to witness a place
Where G-d kissed the earth
And the power of each kiss
Makes roots to grow
And reach so deep
And trunks to form
And branches to extend
And leaves to grow
Flower to boom
And fruit to bear.
Each kiss creates
A tree not like
Any other
Its attributes unique.
And the gift of the kiss
Keeps giving long after
It has touched this earth
The tree is then the giver
Of sight, shade, fruit,
Flower, wood
And even in its
Death, the kiss keeps
Giving…to the soil
That nourished it
..to future trees
…to the earth
...and back to heaven again  ©

. I remember a poem that she wrote many moons ago when she was a young girl. It was written to me for mothers day present. The poem she wrote then and the one she wrote now are very similar, not exact but similar. I still have that poem. It is framed and sitting on my living room. I will always cherish both poems as they mean a lot to me. Presents like these poems mean more than material presents. Love, your Mom
